I am once again very proud to present a new cover from Tsuki No Uta!
Song: MOONBOW (Gekkou)
Anime: Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Crystal
Artist: Momoiro Clover Z
“Tsuki No Uta” is an online Sailor Moon Song Cover group of 8 vocalists from across Canada and the United States.
And yes, I did it
(If you can’t watch the video due to some Youtube restrictions, email me. I will send you the facebook link)
And as always, my songs and recordings can be downloaded in the DOWNLOAD section ^_^
I couldn’t believe how lucky I was to be picked for this show!
There were over 338 entries and they showed perhaps 40 videos total in-between the commentaries and live performances of Kalafina, BENI and last year’s winners.
Yeah, Kalafina and BENI both watched me sing “Time Goes By” by Every Little Thing LOL
I was the only singer from Canada. Once again, the winning title went to a girl who produced a professional music video. This kind of raise the bar for anyone who wish to win. I’ll have to think about something for next year – and not record my songs only 3 days before the deadline! ^^;
I have recorded the whole show, but here’s the segment that featured my song.
Thank you to everyone who supported and voted for my videos!
EDIT: Moonlight Densetsu has finally been added with a bunch of new entries!
You can watch it here! http://www3.nhk.or.jp/nhkworld/songs/aVideo.html?lang=en+1129
Thank you to all of those who took the time to watch my videos – and vote.
I have no clue how or when the winner(s) will be selected – and what we can expect in terms of prizes – but I’ll let you know for sure! ^_^
I learned about this singing contest only 3 days ago and hours away from the submission deadline!
In its second year, “NHK We Love Japanese Songs” let people from outside Japan record little clips of themselves singing the Japanese song of their choice. The clips are then featured on the website for everyone to watch, vote and share.
Last Friday morning, I recorded 3 clips – Moonlight Densetsu, Fuyu no Uta (Kiroro) and Time Goes By (Every Little Thing) and submitted them. Its only this morning that two of my clips were finally published on the website. Funny that they edited them to less than a minute each. When I watched the other entries, most were the equivalent of one verse and one chorus, so most of the songs were about one minute and 30 sec. I based my recordings on that frame as well… Oh well, they kept the best parts so its all good
VOTING is open till December 8th (or one day before for anyone in North America). I am pretty sure the number of votes is not the sole factor in determining a winner but I am sure it can help getting the judges’s attention! We are also only two contestants from Canada and I’d like to be supported by as many Canadians as possible lol!

Enjoy =D (and Thank you!!)
It is with a mix of bitterness and happiness that I am releasing my cover of “Perfect-Area Complete!” – opening theme of the anime Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu and originally performed by Jpop singer Aso (Asou) Natsuko.
I recorded the vocals for that song more than a year ago after I was told that this song would be featured on an anime cover remix album.
Time passed by and the life circumstances of the artist in charge of the project changed and it was obvious, despite a very promising song sample, that the song would never be remixed and fully completed for official release. Finding out that the artist had also un-friended me on Facebook few weeks ago was the turning point in my decision to recover these vocals and release the song myself. Afterall, I had worked over 16 hours for the initial recording and mixing of those vocals and I couldn’t just let them sit on a back up drive. I am no fan of unfinished projects and I had to bring closure to that one before moving on.
That being said, I am already working on my next song and have also decided to release the full “enhanced” version of “Sayounara Musume yo”, an original song that was composed last year.
ENJOY!!! (and please, don’t be shy to comment on the youtube link and subscribe to my channel)
I had started to work on this cover right before leaving Japan and was hoping to finish the recording and mixing upon my return.
There it is!
Nice challenge to cover such amazing high energy songs like Tears Breaker. This is really this kind of songs that brought me to Jpop in the first place.
I wanted to do this cover for a long time, so I asked my friends Priss (VAA veteran) and Clara (Irulanne & Friends and G-idol winner) to sing the song with me
There are projects that takes time but its all worth it when you see and listen to the final product.
Few months ago, I recorded vocals for a duet with fellow Jpop cover singer “Rae” for the song STARDUST MELODIA, originaly performed by CEUI and used as the second ending of the anime Kyoukai Senjou no Horizon. The song has a nice “Yuki Kajiura” feel to it and I liked the challenge to cover such a difficult song with a seasoned Kalafina cover artist such as Rae.
Meanwhile, I have also auditionned for an Anison Chorus group called the Althaea Project and was accepted along 9 other Jpop cover singers. With my upcoming trip to Japan, I recorded my lines right away and I am really looking forward the group’s first release!
Note that Stardust Melodia is also available for download (see menu above), on Soundcloud and on Rae’s youtube account.
