How you got into Sailor Moon / why you love Sailor Moon:
I was a ripe age for the show when it came out in all it’s horrible DiC North American glory. It was my first introduction to anime which also makes it special. It was neat to see a show about these upstanding girls with a wide range of personality traits hanging out together – all types of girls that sacrificed for a greater good. I learned that these girls didn’t have to be feminine necessarily but that they also didn’t have to be manly to be powerful either. (Though, let’s be honest Sailor Uranus is pretty damn powerful!) Over the years, I’ve drawn inspiration from Ami when studying and when needing to focus on improving myself seriously; from Minako when cosplaying and singing; from Mako-chan when planning, preparing and tasting nutritious meals for my husband and family… the list goes on. But above all, the idea that encouraging and embodying love – between friends, family and fellow members of the community – can have such power and influence is something that’s really guided me through life in a way I didn’t imagine was possible before I fell in love with Sailor Moon. Of course the manga art is stunning too and that never hurts ^_~!

Favorite animes and TV shows: Sailor Moon, Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind & other Studio Ghibli works, Afro Samurai, Revolutionary Girl Utena, Haruhi Suzumiya, Slayers, Breaking Bad, Downton Abbey, Arrested Development,
